Service Objective:
We provide young people aspiring to work as care workers in social welfare sector with training and recruitment, including a two-year, government-subsidized part-time education program as well as simultaneous internships in elderly and rehabilitation service units.
Service Target:
Form Five graduates or young people with equivalent qualifications who aspire to carve a career in nursing practice.
Services Currently Provided:
Participants will commence internship and then training according to their strengths and interests. They will serve in elderly / rehabilitation service units as care workers during the first year and will be promoted to the position of health worker after they acquire the required license. Meanwhile, they will enroll in and receive pertinent training through the two-year part-time program, Diploma in Integrative Healthcare for the Elderly and Rehabilitation Sectors, run by Caritas Institute of Community Education. Graduates of the program can apply for High Diploma program under Level 4 of the Qualifications Framework, or nursing programs for enrolled nurse run by local tertiary institutions. Those who meet attendance and work requirement will receive full refund of tuition fees. Social workers will assist participants in meeting work and learning needs while managing employers’ and young people’s expectation in terms of vocational development.
