Service Objetive:
A pioneering project utilizing resources from a cross-disciplinary approach, CLAP@JC liaise with the education, commercial and social service sector to co-create a continuous vocational development framework with youth that facilitate smooth school-to-work transition. We encourage young people to tap into their potential and make their first step in achieving their dreams.
Service Target:
School dropouts and unemployed youth aged 15 to 24
Service Location:
Territory-wide
Services Currently Provided:
We aim to facilitate secondary school students to devise a clear vocational plan followed by concise actions to achieve their goals while motivating school dropouts and unemployed youth to chart a new course for life and career. Meanwhile, we strive to equip teachers and social workers with professional knowledge and pertinent interventions that facilitate vocational development of students.
The project promotes the Expanded Notion of Work (ENOW), which advocates the equal importance of paid and unpaid work, especially the latter’s importance to youth vocational development in terms of career identity and work experience. Furthermore, the concept of ENOW allows young people to proceed according to their different stages of development, voluntarily participating in paid or unpaid work that reflect personal interests and aspirations.
Through ENOW, young people can improve self-understanding and tap into their strengths and capabilities including Values, Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge, after which they could proceed with their Learning Career, Leisure Career and Vocational Career step by step in pursuit of personal and even social goals
