Service Objectives:
The project aims to promote the spirit of volunteerism in students by implementing service into the school curriculum. Through experiential learning and volunteering opportunities, positive values such as compassion, empathy, respect for others, a sense of responsibility, and commitment are instilled in students. By promoting volunteerism through the education of positive values, students are nurtured to become the future caring leaders of Hong Kong.
Service Content:
JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER – School Based Programme is sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and in partnership with Caritas Hong Kong, Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), and The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA).
Service activities include:
- Form -based courses revolving around social issues (Ageing and Elderly Care/Social Inclusion/Alleviation of Poverty/Environmental Sustainability) combined with experiential learning activities.
- Class-based volunteer training and service opportunities.
- A group-based learning model that enables students to become influential design thinkers.
- An online Learning Management System (LMS) to record and keep track of progress and development.
