Caritas Pelletier Hall

Serving Objective

Pelletier Hall was established in 1955 under the management of Sisters of the Good Shepherd. Since September 2002, the Home has been handed over to Caritas-Hong Kong. The Hall aims to assisting those girls with behavioural/emotional problems and maladjusted personalities to achieve better self-understanding and self-esteem through residential training and special education service. Effective 1 January 2019, the service was re-engineered and divided into two sections. The “Residential Home with School for Social Development on-site Section” and the  “Girls’ Home without School Section”.

Service Target

Girls aged 10–21 who have moderate to severe emotional or behavioural problems, or poor family relationships, and whose families are temporarily unable to provide appropriate discipline and care.

Current Services

Comprehensive residential care and education services by the Schools for Social Development (SSD) are provided for upper primary and junior secondary school girls with personal needs and insufficient family support. Through individual counselling, communal living, and formal education, the  girls  are nurtured and trained to develop Self-efficacy, positive attitude, and love for themselves and others. Cross-disciplinary collaboration ensures  effective communication, and support mechanisms to better serve the students.

Girls attend the on-site school, Caritas Pelletier School, which offers mainstream curriculum and extracurricular activities from Primary 4 to Secondary 3. The school and Girls Home work closely to support student development. Minimum Capacity: 64.
