Caritas Youth and Community Service currently uses the “Social Career” platform to process volunteer registrations and manage volunteers.
Established in 2015, “Social Career” is a registered non-profit organisation in Hong Kong that aims to encourage the public to participate in volunteer work. Through the “Social Career” platform, members of the public can browse and register for volunteer opportunities offered by more than 600 organisations.
To browse volunteer opportunities offered by Caritas Youth and Community Service or register as a Caritas Youth and Community Service volunteer, please visit the “Social Career” website.
Outstanding Volunteer Award Scheme
Purpose of the Scheme
The scheme aims to recognise volunteers’ contributions to the community, encourage them to maintain their enthusiasm for service, and motivate them to actively serve the community.
Award System
Implemented since 1997, the scheme presents different Outstanding Volunteer badges according to volunteers’ service hours and years of service:
Selection Criteria
- Basic requirement: Volunteers who complete 30 or more service hours in a year may receive the Red Badge in their first year.
- Accumulated service: Volunteers with two years of volunteer service, and at least 30 service hours in each year, may receive the Orange Badge.
- Long-term service: Volunteers who accumulate 10 years of service may receive the Gold Badge. Following the same progression, volunteers with 20 years of service may receive the Double Gold Badge.
- Maximum level: After 21 years of service, the volunteer’s years of service will be stated on the certificate. No higher-level badge will be awarded.

How to Participate
Option 1: Register Online
Register as a Caritas volunteer through the “Social Career” platform and participate in Caritas volunteer activities.
Option 2: Contact a Service Unit Directly
Contact any Caritas Youth and Community Service unit to register as a Caritas volunteer and participate in activities.
Outstanding Junior Volunteer Award Scheme
Background
Since 2002, Caritas Youth and Community Service Hong Kong has launched the Outstanding Junior Volunteer Award Scheme. The scheme aims to teach primary school students to “love your neighbour” and care for people in need around them. Through practical action, students can share God’s message of love and take on social responsibility.
Features of the Scheme
The scheme encourages primary school students to actively participate in various extracurricular volunteer activities. It aims to help them become children who are willing to learn, good at communicating, ready to take responsibility and brave enough to innovate.
Scheme Details
1) Volunteer Service

🔴 Red Badge:
Students who complete 15 or more service hours in an academic year will receive a Red Badge and certificate.
🟠 Orange Badge: Students participating for a second consecutive year who complete 15 or more service hours will receive an Orange Badge and certificate.
🟡 Yellow Badge: Students participating for a third consecutive year who complete 15 or more service hours will receive a Yellow Badge and certificate.
2) Outstanding Junior Volunteer Awards
To recognise primary school students’ efforts and contributions, the scheme presents certificates of commendation, badges and various service awards each year. These awards recognise students’ contributions to their schools and communities and encourage them to continue participating in volunteer work.
Target Participants
Primary school students in Primary 4 to Primary 6.
How to Participate
Interested students may enquire and register through their schools. Schools may also contact Caritas Youth and Community Service to obtain the application form for the Outstanding Junior Volunteer Award Scheme.

Purpose of the Scheme
The scheme aims to encourage young volunteers from service units to continue participating in volunteer work and to recruit new young volunteers for Caritas Youth and Community Service.
Through the programme, we hope to inspire young people’s passion for social service, encourage their active participation in the community, and help them develop and apply their personal abilities.
