Blessed Children Happy Parents - Specific Learning Difficulties Support

Service Overview

This two-year family-centered program is designed to support children with specific learning difficulties. Through participation in group activities, talent development training, and parent-child programs, the initiative aims to enhance children’s learning motivation, social skills, emotional regulation, and self-confidence.
We believe that every child with a learning disability is not incapable, but differently capable. Every child has the potential to develop their talents and grow up in a healthy and joyful way.
Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) are not an illness, but a “hidden disability”. Children with SpLD have normal intelligence, yet face significant challenges in reading, writing, language, or coordination. In addition, the programme has compiled practical experience into a book, Is Asking About Learning Not Asking About Grades? Practical Sharing on Supporting Specific Learning Difficulties, to build professional knowledge, promote societal awareness and understanding of SpLD, and bring tangible support to more families.

"So, Education Isn't Just About Grades? A Collection of Practical Insights on Supporting Students with Specific Learning Disabilities"

This book introduces the “Holistic Learning Design” framework and a three-tier growth model—from basic needs and psychological support to self-actualization. It includes insights from social workers and mentors, plus a two-year effectiveness study by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University showing significant gains in students’ self-esteem and parents’ parenting efficacy. Blending theory, data, and real-life stories, it offers families facing learning difficulties a hopeful path beyond academic results.
