Family+
Service Overview
“Family+ ” is sponsored by the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation. Based on Attachment Theory, it aims to help parents build secure attachment relationships with their children through parent talk, parent groups, and positive parent-child activities. This will enhance students’ and parents’ resilience in facing growth challenges and promote better mental health.
Primary school parents and their children
This project adopts a three-tier support model to provide parent education activities for primary schools, including seminars, groups, parent-child activities, and case counseling. It helps parents understand the importance of secure attachment relationships for their children’s development, encouraging them to reflect on and adjust their current parenting style. This enhances parents’ ability to meet their children’s learning and growth needs.
The first phase of the project collaborates with 36 primary schools, covering all 18 districts in Hong Kong, including Cheung Chau and Peng Chau. It benefits approximately 2,728 families and 7,212 parents and their children. It has also been invited to share experiences with the Education Bureau and University, allowing primary school professionals and social work students to gain a deeper understanding of parent education work.
The second phase of the program will launch in January 2026, partnering with 50 primary schools across Hong Kong and benefiting about 14,820 parents and their children.
